It certainly wasn’t clear that medicine would be Gail Weingast’s calling from the very beginning. Back in 1969, Gail Weingast attended Tufts University’s Jackson College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. Something changed soon after, however, given that she attended the Boston University School of Medicine, which is where she became Dr. Gail Weingast, MD in 1976.She has certainly made up for lost time.

These days, Dr. Gail Weingast is well known and highly regarded as one of the finest radiology specialists anywhere. Currently, she can be found at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut, where she has been for more than two decades. Now the Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging, she has managed to make many improvements in that hospital’s radiology department, transforming it into one of the top departments in the country. Whether or not Dr. Gail Weingast’s path to her current position was something of a crooked line means nothing, Dr. Gail Weingast is now considered the best.

While her first internship was in pediatrics, Gail Weingast MD began developing a love for the puzzle element of medicine. The ability to look at an image and figure out what needs to be treated is a puzzle that she fell in love with. Over the last twenty plus years, Gail Weingast MD has worked in the field of radiology as a radiologist, Chief of Ultrasound, and Chief of Breast imaging at the William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut. She has utilized her skills at other hospitals as well and is passionate about helping people through the skills she has gained over her illustrious career. Gail Weingast MD is a professional that does not care about the prestige, but rather cares about helping people understand what they need treatment for and then helping them getting better.
